You asked – we answered!

We asked local businesses what they wanted to know about DBS Serviced Apartments, and, as promised, here is a selection of the questions and our answers! If you have any more questions, please feel free to send them to ejohnston@dbs-centres.co.uk.

1) If I book 1 bedroom in a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment, will I have to share with other bookings?

DBS: No, when you book any serviced apartment with DBS, you get exclusive use of the whole apartment. If you book on a single occupancy rate, the other bedrooms will be locked, but unoccupied.

2) Your website said from £28.77 a room, but you don’t have apartments for £875 a month?

DBS: Our 2 bedroom properties are available for £1750 pcm – this includes all household bills, weekly cleaning and maintenance (plus Wi-Fi, Freeview and parking). That works out less than £58 a night for 2 bedrooms (less than £29 per room). It helps us to show the equivalent cost of Serviced Apartments when comparing them to hotels. Likewise, our 3 bedroom apartment is below £82 per night, which is approximately £27 per room per night, compared to an average of £65 – £85 per room for a hotel stay.

3) Is the deposit like a residential rental (2 months rent)?

DBS: If you book in advance or over an event where bookings are likely to be high, we may ask you to pay a percentage of your stay in advance, for overnight/short stays we do not ask for a deposit. For lets of 1 month + our standard deposit requirement is 1 month rental. Your deposit will be returned to you within a week of departure.

4) You manage a business centre as well as the Serviced apartments. Given your business centres are open 8:30-17:30, what happens if I need to contact someone in the middle of the night?

DBS: The Serviced Apartments are separate from our business centres, and operate as a separate business. All guests are given out of hours contacts as part of their stay. You are able to contact a member of our team at any time you need us in an emergency.
