A Rich History of Excellence

We’ve been helping businesses thrive for over 30 years, starting with our first centre in Castle Donington. Over the years, we’ve become a trusted partner to businesses throughout the East Midlands.

  • 1993 – The first office opened in Castle Donington
  • 2000 – Our Glenfield Office opened in Leicestershire
  • 2011 – The first serviced apartment opened, and we have continued to add others to our portfolio over the years.
  • 2014 – Managed office space opened in our Ashby de la Zouch location.

Lesley Duckitt

Managing Director

Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Lesley co-founded dbs Managed Offices with John in 1995, starting in The Old Vicarage in Castle Donington, followed by the acquisition of the Old Rectory in Glenfield. Further growth saw them purchase the Old Police Station in Ashby, broadening dbs Managed Offices’ capacity to accommodate a diverse range of businesses.

Recognising the need for flexible, comfortable accommodation for business or leisure users, Lesley was instrumental in expanding the business to provide Serviced Accommodation with apartments and houses.

Lesley is not only a savvy business woman, she is also a passionate sailor and obtained her skippers licence. She loves to unwind with friends over a drink and good food, and walks with her cherished dogs.

John Piper

Co-owner and Director

John founded IMD, a consultancy specialising in business change and management. With his business partner, Lesley, they purchased the  Old Vicarage for IMD’s headquarters, but its size prompted them to use it as a thriving business centre too.

John’s remarkable achievement lies in building IMD from the ground up, transforming it into a large, highly successful, and respected company. He also plays a key role in managing dbs’ finances.

Outside of work, John enjoys sailing and socialising with friends. He is a proud father of two sons and a grandfather to several grandchildren, who keep him feeling young.

Vicky Redmond

Finance Manager

Since joining DBS in 2022, Vicky has become an indispensable member of the team, contributing significantly across all areas, particularly in accounts.

Her keen eye for interior design has also proved valuable, offering expert advice on building refurbishments.

In her free time, she is a dedicated football fan, holding a season ticket with a local team, since her teenage years. Vicky is particularly proud of the professional growth and confidence she has gained in her finance role, and integrating easily to become part of a great team.

Julie Vallance

General Manager

Julie joined dbs in 2003, initially at the Glenfield centre  She has seen many changes in the industry and loves the variety of the role, with the plethora of business services dbs provides, along with the accommodation.

She is proud to be the General Manager and committed to a thriving, forward thinking business. She loves the interaction with clients and helping to create a work environment combining professionalism, team work and fun.

Outside of work, she enjoys countryside walks with her ‘big, beautiful dog’, socialising with friends, nice food and wine and travelling to explore new cultures and experiences around the world.

Nicola Hillier

Centre Manager

Nicky has been with dbs for 17 years and is the Manager at both the Glenfield and Ashby locations. In her role, she ensures that clients receive exceptional service, delivered with a friendly, positive attitude.  She is committed to dbs’ ethos of providing innovative solutions that support business growth and adaptability.​

Nicola’s time with dbs has resulted in her becoming a valued part of the senior management team.

She is kept busy with 3 children, 2 dogs and 1 husband! She cherishes time with her family, whether it’s exploring the outdoors or simply unwinding together at home. Balancing her professional and personal life with enthusiasm, Nicola values the importance of both career success and strong family connections.

 

Adrian Inwards

IT Consultant

Adrian, or Adey, has been a long-standing and valuable member of DBS, consistently leveraging his exceptional IT skills to benefit both the company and its clients.

Beyond his professional contributions, Adey is a keen music buff and regularly attends concerts across the country. He enjoys socialising and creatively applying his IT expertise in his leisure time.

Claire Smith

Maintenance

Claire has been with dbs for 6 years, initially as part of the housekeeping team and in 2023, moved to the maintenance team. She is really proud of how she has excelled in this field and all she has achieved, taking on any task, willingly.

She was in the army for 13 years and is now part of the Royal British Legion, she also helps out with sea cadets.

Andrew Taylor

Maintenance

Known as Taz to everyone. Taz joined the maintenance team in 2023.

He lives on a narrow boat in a nearby marina so can turn his hand to virtually everything. He is also ex army, where he served for 9 years. In his spare time he likes to socialise and accompanies his wife and her band to their gigs. This year, he has started to play golf.

He is very proud of creating a garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, which was very well received.

Rosie Ager

Business Centre Coordinator

After gaining experience in student halls sales and management, Rosie joined DBS.

Her creative interests centre on the arts, with a special focus on textiles.

A significant achievement was the selection of her university final major project for the New Designers exhibition in London.

Shannon Coyle

Business Centre Coordinator

After six years of thriving in the fast-paced leisure industry, culminating in a managerial role at a busy leisure centre, Shannon has joined DBS.

She is currently learning the role, services dbs provides and getting to know both colleagues and clients.

She enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends and pursuing outdoor activities. Shannon is also very proud that at the age of 21, she started on the property ladder with her first home.
