The Haven is a registered charity supported by contributions from clients and donations. We are a team of professional counsellors and therapists who volunteer time freely to The Haven at both our Ashby and Loughborough venues.
We aim to offer clients space and time to help explore and clarify any difficulties they may be facing. Difficulties such as personal and relationship issues, bereavement, illness, stress, redundancy, depression, sexual, physical, emotional, or spiritual abuse.
We work with clients from any ethnic background, of any faith or none.
As counsellors and therapists we work to the client’s agenda. This may include a spiritual dimension if the client wishes.
We offer short and long term therapy dependant on the needs of the client.
Counselling may help you understand and value yourself more, with opportunity to face the future with greater confidence.
Our work is confidential except in certain circumstances which will be discussed with the client.

🗨️ So, tell us a bit about the Haven team:
The Haven began life as Christian Care and Counsel in the 1980’s and gained charity status in 1999 to become The Haven.
We are a team of professional counsellors and therapists who volunteer time freely to The Haven.
The counsellors come from many differing theoretical and experiential backgrounds. They are individually accredited or working towards accreditation with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) or UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy).
As an organisation The Haven is accredited by ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors).
Counsellors and clients come from a wide area throughout the region covering Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire.
All therapeutic work is professionally supervised. All our team are DBS checked.
The Haven is overseen by voluntary Trustees and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

When we moved we had to push a sofa all the way from our old offices to the DBS offices!

Getting through 2020 and 2021 financially
🗨️ What have you liked most about your time at DBS Managed Offices?
The services are included so there is less administration to deal with.
