KAVITA OBEROI OBE

A successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, with a multi-million pound business portfolio. In 2001, she set up her first company, Oberoi Consulting – a major provider of healthcare support services to clients including the NHS, and established the Oberoi Business Hub in 2012, based in Derby’s Pride Park.

She was named in a Bank of Scotland report as one of Britain’s 100 most entrepreneurial women and in 2014 awarded in OBE for services to entrepreneurship and start-up businesses.

She has also appeared on many TV programmes, including Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire, BBC Two’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired and BBC Breakfast.

Kavita will share how she overcame struggles to build a 8 figure business.

ED HOLLANDS

Coming to the end of his business degree at the University of Derby, Ed noticed several blank trucks while stuck in traffic and saw an opportunity to open another revenue stream for hauliers, who often struggle with cost pressures, and a new audience for advertisers. With trucks being seen by millions of people every day, his idea was to cover lorry boxes and trailers with digital advertisements that would take a company’s brand and message around the country. With this, he developed DrivenMedia.

In 2018, Ed went on to win the backing of serial entrepreneur Jenny Campbell on BBC’s Dragons’ Den and an investment of £30,000.

He will share how an idea became reality and his experience on Dragons’ Den.

A young magician and entrepreneur with a passion for magic, now fulfilling his childhood dream to entertain, amaze and mystify audiences of all ages. MARK PEGG

A British actor and film producer, known for his villainous role of Alfie Kane in BBC’s EastEnders and for his role of Detective Constable Tony Weir in the BBC production of Our Friends in the North. In 2006, he produced the romantic comedy film, Heroes and Villains, which starred the then-unknown James Corden, now a major actor and presenter in the United States. Mark is now an acting coach and has since been an executive producer and developed a number of scripts at Elstree Studios. He will talk about the link between acting and business.

WINSTON CLEMENTS

A TEDx speaker and international speaker, born with Brittle Bone Disease, Winston does not let his disability define him. By breaking self-imposed barriers, he has empowered himself to build a successful tech career with some of the world’s top companies. He speaks regularly to share what he’s learned to help others overcome obstacles.

ABOUT JAY DHILLON

Jay Dhillon came from humble beginnings, growing up in Derbyshire, making his prosperity by running his own recruitment agencies and investing in property. At the age of 40, he lives comfortably in Derby with his wife and two daughters in the knowledge that he has achieved huge success in the business world through sheer hard graft and self-belief.

He has grown businesses from start-up to success and helped many others do the same. With no investment but his savings, he grew his first business to 500 employees, racking up sales of over £30 million, with major clients including Land Rover, Jaguar, Toyota and New Look. In 2013, Jay sold his business and has since gone on to further success, working in property investment and his online recruitment agency, RecruitmentBoss.com.

He was chosen for the highly coveted role as a voluntary mentor for the Prince’s Trust, where he could give back by helping young entrepreneurs start their own businesses. His achievements were marked with a personal invitation to meet Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. Jay believes, with the right mentoring and advice, anyone can achieve success in business. ON THE DAY

For all guests, there will be free on-site parking, refreshments and lunch provided by Derby County Football Club Catering, as well as celebratory cake made by Paz Heer ‘AB Cakes’, who has made cakes for Floyd Mayweather, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
